Note: These notes are taken from a Peace TV video clip. They cannot be published as definitive texts and should never be used in the future as an “official” publication of True Father’s words. However, they do provide a good idea of the “spirit” of the message. Rev. Katsumi Kambashi
Ms. McDevitt read Father’s speech as follows:
It is a pity to see young people nowadays who don’t know where to go. The house you live is not yours. Your body is not yours. The destination you are heading for is not yours either. Then to who do they belong? Without clarifying this, you will end up just becoming material used to damage society. I do not need such a person.
There is always cause and effect. Results become one with their cause through this process. You must be able to be a person of integrity, and be able to go down from the highest position to the lowest. Heaven never use people who cannot go up and down in their course. You must be able to go up and then go down from there. When you go down you are not supposed to take a rest, and you need to go up again to an even higher level. You must have such a spirit. This is the educational direction in our church.
Use me 100% and become a better person than me. In my 40’s, I made this much foundation. Inherit my spirit and use me to make better foundation of your own. It is good to do so.
‘The good must have the ability to digest the bad. For example, there are gangs on the streets and I might use you to restore them. Those who say ‘I cannot do such a thing’ better leave here now. I am telling you clearly now. Despite my words, there are people who just follow me without being responsible for that. Become an interesting person.
The following are some of Father’s words after reading:
“When you experience fishing at night, you can truly know the taste of fishing. The ocean is very mysterious at night when the stars are bright and there is a balmy breeze in the summer. Wearing only underpants, I become a friend to the fish, and that’s the way I am on the boat. When a leader fish breaks the water, the other fish do so too, and they behave together.”
“When we go out, the rain will avoid and escape from us. Think that way.”
Later Father specially thanked Ms. McDevitt for her reading his words yesterday and today.
