Summary of Hoon Dok Hae
Note: These notes are taken from a script from the web site of Unificationism Korea. These cannot be published as definitive texts and should never be used in the future as an “official” publication on Rev. Moon’s words. However, they do provide a good idea of the “spirit” of the message. Rev. Katsumi Kambashi
After receiving a bow, Father said,
“Is my speech recorded now? This Hoon Dok Hae should be recorded.”
That day, Father spoke for 23 hours and 30 minutes without eating or going to the bathroom. During the speech he had emphasized many times that in order to let the world know about the convention that is to be held at the Cheon Jeong Gung, he would have this long meeting.
“Right after I came back from Las Vegas to Korea, without spending a night at the Cheon Jeong Gung, I came to Yeosu yearning for this place. I did not look for a comfortable place to sleep. We must have a total of 7,000 to 8,000 graduates from special workshop for the leaders of the ocean providence, and it is better for them to study more at Sun Moon University.”
(It was the 49th workshop being held for the leaders of the ocean providence)
“You must do your best when delivering True Parents’ autobiography.’
“All the Blessed families must believe and be united with eight textbooks and teaching materials of True Parents.”
Father stayed at Aria Hotel in Las Vegas for the last three days before coming back to Korea, where he wrote down important notes in his agenda book. He read them as his proclamation after having said the following.
“The day I will have the event (Convention to Proclaim the Word that Firmly Establishes the Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind) at the Cheon Jeong Gung is July 8, and 7 X 8 = 56, which means it is time when we go beyond the important boundary line. We must be determined to go forward with this convention.”
In his notes, he said the completion of the providence in Las Vegas and he would transfer its victory there to Korea by having the convention on July 8. He said we must know Korea would become God’s homeland, and all the nations in the world would face great changes after this event.
Father told Mrs. Yang to read his speech book # 9 (last part) and # 10 (first part). After she read Father’s prayer and the title of his speech from # 10, Father said,
“Waiting for today’s Hoon Dok Hae, I had been curious about the content of my speech book # 10. I came here thinking ‘its contents must be this, and I was right. You must understand this speech is what you need this morning.”
The speech Mrs. Yang read from the #10 is “Lamb and Father who lost their way” (at the former headquarters on June 26, 1960)
Around 4:00 p.m., True Mother sent cans of McCol for the participants to drink but nobody could feel comfortable to take it. At 6: 25 p.m., Father received a phone call from Hyung Jin Nim who came back from his successful meeting in Brazil. Later Rev. Heung Tae Kim, who is the National Messiah for Brazil and came back to Korea with Hyung Jin Nim, arrived at Yeosu to join the meeting.
Father emphasized the importance of the soccer tournament which would be held this year. Around 11:00 p.m., True Mother sent drinks again to the participants, and Father continued to speak the same topics in different ways. Around 2:00 a.m., the message came from Rev. Jeong Ok Yoo and Rev. Chang Shik Yang who had successfully finished their educational workshop in Las Vegas. Specially Father emphasized many times the importance of the convention he would have on July 8, and no one saw exhaustion in Father’s face until the end of the meeting at 4: 35 a.m. All the participants deeply felt Father’s seriousness and sincere heart for God’s providence.
